Dr. Sukhdeep Sagoo has been practicing Orthopedics in the Yuba/Sutter area over the last 10 years. He received his BS degree from the University of California, Irvine; where he was on the Dean’s list.  He earned his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 2005; where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class.  Dr. Sagoo completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011 with great accolades from his teaching attendings.  Dr. Sagoo also pursued subspecialty training in Sports Medicine at the University of Massachusetts, earning his fellowship degree in 2012. During his residency, he trained under a diverse group of orthopedic surgeons, covering a wide spectrum of procedures, and defining his clinical and surgical skills amongst some of the top, field-defining surgeons in Orthopedics. During his residency, Dr. Sagoo had the opportunity in taking care of athletes from the Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers, and Flyers. In his fellowship year, Dr. Sagoo refined his skills in arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee, as well as defining his skills in soft-tissue procedures, including reconstruction of ligaments/tendons (including the ACL).    He worked as an assistant team physician with the Boston Red Sox organization, covering their baseball games, as well as, assessing and treating their athletes.  During his fellowship year, he was also an assistant team physician to a lot of the local university athletic programs; including covering their football and ice hockey games, and helping treat their athletes. During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Sagoo contributed to several orthopedic publications, as well as writing chapters for orthopedic textbooks.

In his practice, Dr. Sagoo covers general orthopedic cases including, but not limited to, joint replacement and fracture care.  He also specializes in providing subspecialty care for sports-related injuries, whether it’s an athlete or someone who has developed shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, or ankle pain.

Dr. Sagoo has board certification by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.  He is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the American Osteopathic Association.  Dr. Sagoo is also a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Besides a very strong interest in medicine and orthopedics, Dr. Sagoo enjoys playing sports such as soccer, tennis, hockey, and basketball and likes running regularly.  He also has a strong interest in being involved with his Sikh and Panjabi cultural community and believes in doing ‘seva’ (community service).
